‘Affluenza’ Killer’s
Appeal Tossed – Again [CNS, 4/14/17]: The
Texas Supreme Court refused to hear “affluenza” killer Ethan Couch’s appeal,
leaving him to serve the remainder of his two-year sentence for fleeing to
Mexico while on juvenile probation.
Arkansas vows to keep
pushing for executions despite setback [AP, 4/17/17]: Arkansas officials vowed to carry out a double
execution later this week after the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a setback to
the state's plan to resume capital punishment for the first time in nearly 12
years with a ruling sparing an inmate just minutes before his death warrant was
set to expire.

Equality for All: Federal
Appeals Court Holds in Hively v. Ivy Tech Community College That
Title VII Prohibits LGBT Discrimination [Justia, 4/18/17]: Grossman comments on a recent
decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, sitting en banc,
in which it unequivocally held that Title VII prohibits LGBT discrimination.
Grossman describes the history leading up to this momentous decision and
applauds the court for getting it right.
