Sanders wins in Wisconsin, keeping alive his improbable bid for the nomination [Wash Post, 4/5/16]: Bernie Sanders emerged from Wisconsin with a solid victory Tuesday, prolonging his dogged but improbable bid to catch Hillary Clinton in the fight for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Mississippi governor signs religious freedom bill into law [Jurist, 4/6/16]: Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant on Tuesday signed a bill into law that will allow state employees to refuse to issue same-sex-marriage licenses and allow private companies and religious groups to deny services to the LGBT community without the threat of punishment.

Besieged teachers unions reach out to their members [EdSource, 4/5/16]: With lawyers representing the 10 California teachers in Friedrichs v. the California Teachers Association vowing to resume their fight to overturn mandatory union fees when a new justice joins the U.S. Supreme Court, the 4-4 split that the Court announced last week amounts to a reprieve, not a victory, for the CTA and other unions representing public employees.
