Wisconsin court holds Second Amendment extends to certain knives [Jurist, 11/25/15]: An appellate court in Wisconsin ruled Tuesday that the application of a state law that prohibits possession of certain knives violates the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. 

Sex After 50 at the Supreme Court [Linda Greenhouse in the NY Times, 11/26/15]: “Fifty years after the Supreme Court, in Griswold v. Connecticut, granted married couples the constitutional right to use birth control, here we are back at the court, still wrestling with contraception. Am I the only one who finds this remarkable?”

California court dismisses lawsuit against district administrators accusing them of turning a “blind eye” while undercover police officer at high school entrapped autistic student into selling the officer drugs [NSBA Legal Clips, 11/23/15]: According to the suit, the student, who has difficulty making friends and interpreting everyday social cues, was falsely befriended by an undercover police officer who repeatedly insisted that the student find marijuana for him. After being harassed for nearly three weeks via 60 text messages, the student was able to buy half a joint from a homeless man to give to the officer. The parents plan on appealing the dismissal.

Virginia district adopts policy banning Confederate flag symbols and other divisive symbols [NSBA Legal Clips, 11/23/15]: The revised student dress code policy, from the Montgomery County School Board, bans apparel that would disrupt a school’s learning environment. Among those symbols banned are clothing displaying Confederate symbols and items denoting neo-Nazi and other hate groups.
