Could be an interesting read: The Case Against the Supreme Court: Most Americans share the perception that the Supreme Court is objective, but Erwin Chemerinsky, one of the country’s leading constitutional lawyers, shows that this is nonsense and always has been. The Court is made up of fallible individuals who base decisions on their own biases. It is due out Sept. 25.

In light of Ferguson, this case might be worth of discussion: U.S. v. Edwards (9th Circuit) [Cal. App. Report blog, 9/3/14]: The panel affirmed the district court’s denial of a suppression motion in a case in which police officers responding to an anonymous 911 call found the defendant in the vicinity of the reported shooting, discovered he matched the description of the reported suspect, stopped him, frisked him, found he had a gun, and arrested him.
