Federal judge dismisses Pennsylvania “blogging” teacher’s First Amendment claim [NSBA Legal Clips, 7/31/14]: A U.S. District Court judge blocked a lawsuit by a former Pennsylvania teacher against her ex-employer. The judge, citing past cases that pitted public employee against employer, ruled that the teacher’s negative blog posts about her students did not provide enough value to the “larger discussions of educational reform,” to outweigh the district’s right to maintain an “efficient” educational environment.
